Position Summary

The Executive Director (ED) provides strategic and operational leadership to advance the mission of Girls Inc. of Bay County, and truly possesses a servant’s heart. The ED is responsible for the organization’s financial health, fundraising success, program quality, and community visibility.

Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, the E.D. serves as the chief fundraiser, spokesperson, and advocate for Girls Inc. of Bay County, ensuring sustainable growth through strong donor relationships, sound fiscal management, and effective organizational leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Fund Development and External Relations

• Serve as the organization’s primary fundraiser and public representative.
• Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy to grow annual revenue through individual giving, corporate partnerships, foundations, special events, and grants.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with donors, funders, civic leaders, and community partners.
• Lead donor cultivation and stewardship activities to strengthen long-term philanthropic support.
• Oversee all fundraising materials, proposals, and reporting to ensure high quality and timely submission.
• Increase the visibility of Girls Inc. of Bay County through community engagement, partnerships, and media outreach.

Strategic Leadership and Board Partnership

• Collaborate with the Board of Directors to set and achieve strategic goals and ensure strong governance.
• Provide leadership and guidance to staff and volunteers to ensure alignment with the organization’s mission and goals.
• Support the Board in fund development, strategic planning, community advocacy and awareness.
• Maintain regular communication with the Board and provide transparent updates on operations, finances, and outcomes.

Financial and Operational Oversight

• Manage the organization’s annual operating budget and ensure sound financial practices.
• Oversee accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting processes in partnership with staff and the Board’s Finance Committee.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and nonprofit best practices.
• Evaluate and strengthen organizational systems to improve efficiency, accountability, and sustainability.

Human Resources and Organizational Culture

• Recruit, develop, and retain a talented and diverse staff team.
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and mission-driven work culture grounded in collaboration and respect.
• Provide ongoing coaching, performance management, and professional development opportunities for staff.

Community Engagement and Advocacy

• Represent Girls Inc. of Bay County in the community, promoting partnerships that advance opportunities for girls and families.
• Advocate for policies and initiatives that support the empowerment and well-being of girls in Bay County.
• Serve as a visible, credible, and passionate ambassador for the organization’s mission.

Qualifications and Experience

Required

• Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, business, education, or a related field.
• Minimum 5–7 years of leadership experience.
• Demonstrated success in fundraising, including individual giving, corporate sponsorships, and grant writing.
• Strong financial management and budgeting skills.
• Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop staff and volunteers.
• Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
• Successful completion of a comprehensive background check and drug test.

Preferred

• Master’s degree in a related field.
• Experience in the nonprofit or public sector.

• Experience working with youth-serving or advocacy organizations.
• Familiarity with the philanthropic and nonprofit community in Northwest Florida


Compensation and Benefits

• Base Salary: $65,000 - $70,000 annually
• Benefits: Health insurance, PTO, IRA with organization’s match of 3%, and professional development opportunities.
• Schedule: Full-time (40 hours/week) plus occasional evenings and weekends for events and community engagement.
